There is hope for today’s youth…

This video was posted on Gizmodo today… every single commenter LOVED it!
The post was titled, “How to mod your parent’s house into a 60 foot slip and slide,” and everyone expected the same thing: a bunch of drunk morons falling off the top of the house and hurting themselves. Instead, we are treated to this great little video of a well-constructed (although freakin’ scary looking!) water slide that runs from the roof and ends in a pool. Nearly everyone has a safe landing and it looks as though they just constructed it to have a good time.

That’s just good clean fun! And while no parent in their right mind would green light this kind of a project if asked for their permission, it makes me feel pretty good inside to see these guys pull it off.

Romance is not, I repeat NOT, dead.

or we will be doomed to repeat them.

My vote for best commercial ever.

I never actually saw this one on TV, just through the wonders of the internet.

But this one is perhaps that greatest.

the A-slide!

freakin' awesome, friends, good times 2 Comments »

Cara surprised me last Saturday with a birthday trip on the Ski Train to Winter Park. Not only that, but that, but Dave, Nat, Russ, and Jeanne met us at Union Station and then Craiger met us up at Winter Park. It was awesome.

Craig and I took one final turn on the Alpine Slide before the train departed. All you really need to know it that we had a quick lesson about inertia with the two little kids in front of us when we got to the bottom of the hill.

And yes, that’s pure joy you see on my face!

Friends don’t let Friends buy Ann Coulter books

There are so many other well-written books that cover the same conservative ideology… and they manage to do it without the name-calling, the extremism, the self-righteousness, or the inability to apologize.

Everyone’s life will change tomorrow! :)

This was supposed to be a shoutout to Craig in the SoCal

local interest, news, not cool, weather 2 Comments »

But instead of a shoutout, I’m left with confusion.

You see, it all started a couple of months ago when Dave and I both read the same article in the paper that said the new Meteorologist at 9news had a cat named Stormy… just like our SoCal brother from another mother, Craig. The new Meteorologist (Becky Ditchfield) just started this week, so I thought this would be good time to post the picture of Craiger’s stormy on the mobile communication device.

But I found this nonsense on the 9news website

Becky lives at home with her cat “Cody”, and loves anything that has to do with sports.

See full bio text from 9news.com

Dave and I must have been smoking something that morning, right? If so, Dusty Saunders from the Rocky Mountain News was there also. He kind of made a big deal of the Stormy connection.

9News again will have a “Stormy” weather connection beginning June 4.
The Gannett-owned station has hired meteorologist Becky Ditchfield, currently a weather reporter at KTHV in Little Rock, Ark. as Nick O’Kelly’s replacement in the station’s weekday morning news block.

In the ’70s, 9News’ main weatherman was the late Leon (Stormy) Rottman, a congenial talent who earned his forecasting stripes in the military.

According to a Web site, Ditchfield is very close to her cat, named Stormy.

Rocky article, March 28

Sure, who cares. All I’m saying is that I remember a time when someone would tell you the name of their cat and you could believe them.

BTW, here’s Stormy on the cell phone. No word on if it’s Stormy’s mobile, Craig’s mobile, or if Stormy can still be reached on that number.

I’m not crying

A poignant moment from last night’s premier of The Flight of the Conchords. Bret and Jermaine explore some really plausible explanations for their tears that have nothing to do with being dumped by a girl.

This is a comedy classic. Plain and simple

The comedian’s name is Dan St. Paul and I believe he first performed this on the Bob and Tom morning radio show (out of Indy) back in the early 90s. As you can tell from the laughter, this is a recording from that show.

Anyway, I just found the animated version of this joke. It’s gold. It cuts out a little early, but you get most of the funny stuff. Enjoy.
